EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Master Ellen Hendrix works at Essential Martial Arts as the Executive Director. Graduating from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, she holds a degree in Commercial Recreation.
Master Ellen began Taekwon-Do training in 1998 and is one of the highest ranking students in the Essential Martial Arts program, holding a 6th Degree Black Belt. Additionally, Master Ellen is one of only four individuals in the world ever promoted to CERTIFIED TRAINER in Dr. Keith Jeffery’s Easy Tai Chi. Certified Trainers are an elite group of Easy Tai Chi MASTER INSTRUCTORS promoted at the discretion of Easy Tai Chi Founder Dr. Keith Jeffery. The Easy Tai Chi system is a beautiful and simple blend of traditional Yang and Chen family styles of Tai Chi along with QiGong energy drills and elements of Pakua and Yoga! Master Ellen is also certified in Dr. Jeffery’s 4 Minute Fitness (Qi Gong) system and she one of a handful of Tai Chi players which Dr. Jeffery has given permission to certify other Easy Tai Chi and 4 Minute Fitness Leaders. As an added bonus, she is also a student of Sun Style Tai Chi and is certified in both levels of Tai Chi for Arthritis through Dr. Paul Lam’s organization. Master Ellen has also earned her purple belt in HapKiDo and is a phase one instructor/black sash in Contemporary Jeet Kune Do and Filipino Martial Arts. Master Ellen brings a lot to the table at Essential Martial Arts. A lifelong athlete, Master Ellen was the captain of her soccer team and enjoys an extremely active lifestyle. Her unique educational background, couple with her previous work experience with the New York Yankees and later the operations coordinator for the Greensboro Children’s museum give her the necessary background to help continue to develop the operational aspects of Essential Martial Arts. |
