Master Ellen Hendrix works at Essential Martial Arts as the Vice Director with her husband, Monty Hendrix. Graduating from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, she holds a degree in Commercial Recreation.
She began Taekwon-Do training in 1998 and is one of the highest ranking students in the Essential Martial Arts program, holding a 4th Dan Black Belt.
Master Ellen is also an Apprentice Instructorship in Contemporary Jeet Kune Do and Philippine Martial Arts under Sigung Paul Vunak's Progressive Fighting System.
Additionally, Master Ellen is a certified teacher in Dr. Keith Jeffery's Easy Tai Chi and 4 minute fitness system. She has received the prestigious Founder's Award from Dr. Keith Jeffery and is one of only a hand full of teachers allowed to certify other Easy Tai Chi and 4 Minute Fitness Leaders. She is also a student of Sun Style Tai Chi and is certified in both levels of Tai Chi for Arthritis through Dr. Paul Lam's organization.
Master Ellen has also earned her purple belt in HapKiDo.
Master Ellen brings a lot to the table at Essential Martial Arts. A lifelong athlete, Master Ellen was the captain of her soccer team and enjoys an extremely active lifestyle. Her unique educational background, couple with her previous work experience with the New York Yankees and later the operations coordinator for the Greensboro Children's museum give her the necessary background to help continue to develop the operational aspects of Essential Martial Arts.
